Strategic Overview & Unsanctioned Status

The Utah Mixed Epic is a non-sanctioned, self-managed initiative. There are no registration fees, no prize pools, and no corporate safety nets. Our primary deliverable is the recording of finish times for those who successfully navigate the vertical disruption of the Utah landscape.

Internal Memo: Riders maintain 100% equity in their own well-being. The "Start Line" is merely an onboarding event; once you deploy, you are the CEO of your own survival.
Policy 02

Core Operating Procedures

Self-Reliance

External support is considered a breach of project scope. Resupply must be conducted via commercially available channels open to all stakeholders.

Honor System

We do not micromanage. Be honorable, maintain the line, and execute the route as filed under your own power. Character is our primary KPI.

Yield Hierarchy

Riders must yield to all uphill traffic and non-mechanized users. Be overly courteous and prioritize safety in all interactions on the route.

Gate Management

You will encounter active grazing allotments. Leave every gate exactly as you found it. If a gate is closed, secure it behind you. If it is open, leave it open.

Internal Memo: You are an ambassador for the ultra-cycling community. Hostility or "aggro" behavior toward hikers, ranchers, or other riders is a breach of conduct. We want to be invited back to these lands for future projects.
Policy 03

Leave No Trace Protocols

Extraction

Pack it in, pack it out. All waste (including organic) must be extracted to the nearest commercial disposal node.

Surface Integrity

Stick to the established route. Off-trail "disruption" or short-cutting through biological soil is prohibited.

Waste Management

Utilize public facilities. In remote segments, follow the 6-inch cat-hole protocol or use WAG bags where required.

Policy 04

Required Materials

To ensure project continuity in the high desert, the following hardware is non-negotiable:
